Safety
Some people use Bothhomes in difficult situations. These features and tips help keep your journal private.
If you are in danger, call your local emergency number now. Browsing history may show that you visited this page; consider using a private window.
Keep the app private
- Face ID lock. Settings › Privacy & safety › Lock with Face ID.
- Quick hide. Tap the crossed-out eye on the main screens to cover the screen instantly and lock the app.
- Neutral icon. Choose Grid, Leaf or Plain in Settings › App icon. Notifications say only “Reminder” by default — no names or details.
- Hide the app. On iOS 18 and later, touch and hold the icon › Require Face ID › Hide and Require Face ID.
- Protect your Apple ID. Use a password only you know, and check Settings › your name › Devices for devices you don’t recognize. Apple’s Personal Safety User Guide and Safety Check (Settings › Privacy & Security › Safety Check) can help.
- Shared devices. If someone else knows your passcode, change it before you start your journal.
